Hunter & Co of Munich and the Upper-Austrian hunting association are happy to announce a new collaboration, which will integrate their two apps, as well develop new features such as wildlife data collection, custom members' area, and other areas, which will create the most useful tool for the hunters of Upper Austria, for the future of hunting.
The Upper-Austrian Hunting Association represents the interests of over 20,000 hunters (Around 15% of all Austrian hunters), in 950 hunting areas, and is tasked with doing so by state law. They have always been at the forefront of technological advancement and keen to recognize new opportunities to assist hunters. They were the first association to launch their own app in 2018 (?) which provides hunters with news, information, membership card and insurance documents. President Herbert Sieghartsleitner and managing director Christopher Boeck jointly said: “On the one hand we provide the hunters with modern technologies, on the other hand we refer to the feeling and sensitivity of nature and wild animals, which is so important when hunting. In our opinion, that is what makes it.“
Hunter & Co develops the app “Jagdgefährte” (MyHunt in the rest of the world) and was founded in 2018 by Lorenz Frey-Hilti and Markus Ortmann with the vision of digitalizing the entire hunting experience, before, during and after the hunt. As well as to provide a platform for all parts of the hunting community, associations as well as private industry. They have established a broad partner network which includes such organizations as the CIC, FACE, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Garmin and many more.
Together with FACE, the umbrella organization of all hunting associations in Europe, as well as their local members, they are developing a wildlife research platform, which whilst following strict data protection guidelines, and with individual user consent, can provide associations and research institutions with valuable data on disease, population movement, harvest results, direct transmission of harvest-notices to authorities and much more. This universal tool is locally adaptable.
Hunter & Co CEO, Lorenz Frey-Hilti, said of the new partnership: “Upper-Austria is one of the most important and beautiful parts of the Austrian hunting community, and we look forward to working together with the association in developing new tools to assist the hunters in Austria and Europe”
